터키 영화 ‘아일라’ 시사회

오늘 이 자리는 6·25전쟁 당시 터키 참전용사와 한국 고아소녀의 아름다운 인연을 그린 영화 ‘아일라’의 국내 개봉을 축하하기 위한 자리입니다.
이런 기쁜 자리에 여러분과 함께 ‘아일라’ 영화를 관람하게 된 것을 뜻깊게 생각합니다.

(순차통역)Today we gather here to celebrate the release the movie, Ayla, a moving story of a Turkish Korean War veteran and Korean orphan girl. I am very honored to join you in this meaningful occasion.
‘아일라’는 저와 국가보훈처에 매우 특별한 의미가 있는 영화입니다.  ‘아일라’가 대한민국 극장에서 상영되길 손꼽아 기다려왔습니다. 

(순차통역)The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs has special connection with the movie Ayla and we have been patiently waiting for this movie to be released in Korean theaters.

국가보훈처는 6·25전쟁에 참전하여 대한민국의 자유와 평화를 지켜준 유엔참전용사의 희생과 공헌에 보답하기 위해 매년 참전용사를 초청하여 감사의 마음을 전하고 있습니다.

(순차통역) To express the country’s  gratitude to the veterans of the Korean War who protected our freedom and peace, the MPVA(Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs) invites veterans each year.

지금으로부터 8년 전인 2010년, ‘아일라’의 실제 주인공인 터키군 장교 故 슐레이만씨께서 국가보훈처의 초청으로 한국을 방문하셨습니다.
그리고 이때 기적처럼 ‘아일라’의 실제 주인공인 한국 고아 소녀 김은자씨를 다시 만나셨습니다.

(순차통역) 8 years ago in 2010, the late Süleyman, a sergeant in the Turkish Brigade, visited Korea at the MPVA’s invitation. During his visit, like a miracle, Mr. Süleyman met Kim Eunja, or Alya as he called her, once again.

60여년 전, 전장에서 다섯 살 어린 소녀를 아빠처럼 챙겨주던 터키군 용사.
“꼭 돌아올게, 약속해”라는 마지막 말을 남기고 떠나던 이별의 순간, 어느 누가 이런 꿈같은 재회를 예상할 수 있었을까요.
때로 현실은 상상을 뛰어넘습니다.
저는 두 분의 믿기 힘든 재회 사연을 듣고, 더할 수 없는 보람과 감동을 느꼈습니다.

(순차통역)More than 60 years ago, a Turkish soldier made a father-like figure for a five-year-old girl in the midst of war. Would he have thought this dream-like reunion with the girl when he made his promise to come back for the girl? Sometimes dreams become reality. When I first heard their dream-like story, I was deeply impressed.

그리고 작년 12월, 터키 참전용사들께 감사를 전하기 위해 저는 터키를 방문했습니다. 그러나 안타깝게도 제가 터키에 도착하기 불과 며칠 전에 슐레이만씨께서 작고하셨다는 슬픈 소식을 들었습니다. 제가 슐레이만씨를 직접 만날 수 있었더라면, 그 분께 제가 할 수 있는 가장 크고 깊은 감사를 전했을 것입니다.

(순차통역)Last December, I went to Turkey to express our gratitude to and meet the Turkish veterans of the Korean War. However, unfortunately, Mr. Süleyman passed away, a few days before I arrived in Turkey. If I had met him, I would have express the greatest and most sincere appreciation to him that I could.

터키와 대한민국은 특별하고 소중한 인연으로 이어져 왔습니다. 
68년 전 6?25전쟁에서 터키의 젊은이들은 위기에 처한 대한민국의 자유와 평화를 수호하기 위해 고귀한 피를 흘렸습니다.

(순차통역) Turkey and Korea have shared special and priceless friendship. 68 years ago during the Korean War, those young Turkish soldiers shed noble blood to safeguard our freedom and peace.

‘아일라’가 터키에서 개봉될 당시, 터키 국민들에게 큰 관심과
호응을 얻었다고 알고 있습니다. 대한민국 국민들도 ‘아일라’를 통해 터키 참전용사들의 헌신과 인류애를 다시 한 번 느끼게  될 것입니다.

(순차통역)  I was told that the movie Ayla was well received by Turkish citizens when it was released in the country. It is my genuine hope that it will be as well as received by Korean people and through this movie, we will feel Turkish soldiers’ dedication and humanitarianism once again.

터키와 대한민국은 “칸 카르 데쉬, 피를 나눈 형제”입니다.
故 슐레이만씨와 한국 소녀가 60년이 넘도록 그 인연을 이어온 것처럼 양국의 우정 역시 영원히 지속되기를 기대합니다.

(순차통역)Turkey and Korea are Kan Kardesh. I hope our friendship will continue as that of Mr. Süleyman and the Korean girl had maintain over 60 years.
대한민국 정부를 대표하여 터키 정부와 국민들에게 깊은 감사의 말씀을 드리며 다시 한 번 ‘아일라’의 국내 개봉을 진심으로 축하드립니다.

(순차통역) Once again, I express my country’s gratitude to the Turkish government and people and congratulations on the release of the movie in Korea.
